We have always been taught to use Positive Affirmations for everything, so this this is a nice change in thinking!

Have you tried to lose weight, but failed because you have no willpower? Try a little “won’t-power,” and see if it helps!
Instead of setting a high goal for weight loss, live your life one day at a time, and you may be amazed at the results!
Repeat after me:
Just for today…
I won’t skip breakfast. I know that if I don’t have breakfast, I’ll be starved later in the day and end up eating more calories than I should. I’ll make sure to have some protein, such as an egg or peanut butter, some fruit or natural fruit juice, and a whole grain, such as oatmeal or whole-wheat toast.
I won’t forget the importance of drinking lots of water. I know that water will keep me hydrated, improve regularity, and make me feel fuller so that I won’t overeat. I’ll drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, at each meal, between meals, and frequently while I exercise.
I won’t eat in front of the TV or computer. I will sit down at the table and enjoy my food, eating slowly and savoring every bite.
I won’t fill up on just one type of food, but I will eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, proteins and low-fat dairy products.
I won’t drive when I can walk. If I go to the grocery, mall or anywhere else, I won’t grab the parking spot nearest the door; I will park farther away and walk.
I won’t drive my children to school if the school is just a few blocks away. If the traffic is too heavy and it is not safe for children to walk alone, I will walk them to school myself. We can all benefit from the exercise, and it will give us a good opportunity to talk.
I won’t stay up late watching TV or playing on the computer. I know that obesity is connected to too little sleep, so I want to make sure I get 7-8 hours of sleep if possible.
I won’t be so rigid about what I eat that I can’t enjoy a “treat” occasionally. I will just order a small portion of whatever I want, and know that I deserve it because I’ve been doing all the right things the rest of the time.
I won’t beat myself up if I “fall off the wagon” and go back to my old lifestyle. I will remember that tomorrow is a new day, and one day at a time, I can do anything!
